HJF Is a Smart Career Choice
HJF has undergone tremendous growth since its inception in 1983, as more and more military medical personnel and research sponsors have turned to us for assistance.
We recruit professionals committed to scientific discovery—nearly 90 percent of HJF’s more than 1,800 employees work directly on medical research programs.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of medical scientists is expected to increase 20 percent through 2016, faster than the average for all occupations. The federal government funds a substantial number of basic research and development, including many areas of medical research. Employment growth is likely to occur as a result of the expected expansion in research related to illnesses such as AIDS, avian influenza, cancer, and malaria, along with growing treatment challenges such as antibiotic resistance. The U.S. Department of Labor reported biomedical engineering jobs will increase by 31.4 percent through 2010, with overall job growth in this field averaging 15.2 percent through the end of the decade.
The Foundation has established itself as a reliable source for sound program management and collaborative scientific advancement. HJF manages major research programs, including multi-site and international programs, and helps plan and initiate new programs by meeting the unique needs of military medical research scientists.
