Benefits

Benefits include:

Retirement Plan
HJF offers a defined contribution 403(b) Retirement Plan with generous employer matched contributions to eligible employees. HJF matches 100% of an eligible employee’s contribution up to 5% of earnings per payroll period. This increases to 150% after 5 years and 200% after 10 years. Employer contributions are 100% vested immediately.
Group Health Insurance, Dental and Vision
HJF offers a PPO Plan with both in-network and out-of-network components, as well as an HSA Compliant Plan. Employees in California are eligible for an HMO Plan. Employees working outside the United States are eligible for an International Medical, Dental and Vision plan. For employees working over 30 hours, HJF pays the majority of the premiums for medical, dental and vision coverage for both single and/or family coverage. HJF health plans allow domestic partner coverage.
Smoking Cessation Benefits
Employees can enroll in the free smoking cessation program called Quit for Life. The program offers medication, coaching, phone-based treatments and education materials.
Health Advocate Program
The Health Advocate Program focuses on providing administrative services, clinical services and information/service support to HJF employees.
Employer-Paid Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
The Foundation provides life insurance coverage of two times an employee’s annual salary, up to a maximum of $500,000. It also provides additional accidental death and dismemberment insurance at no cost to the employee. Employees may purchase supplemental life insurance for themselves and eligible dependents.
Annual and Sick Leave
Employees working 40 hours per week receive 12 days of annual leave per year, with the amount of leave increasing with length of service. Paid time off is available when an employee is unable to work because of illness, injury or a health care appointment. Employees working 40 hours per week accrue 15 days per year of sick leave. The Foundation also offers employer-paid short- and long-term disability benefits.
Flexible Spending Program
Our flexible spending plan helps employees pay for unreimbursed, out-of-pocket medical or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. Employees estimate expenses and designate contributions to their accounts each year.
Group Legal Plan
Employees receive a discounted group rate for comprehensive legal and financial planning services.
Pre-Tax Transit and Commuter Parking Program
Nationwide, employees may elect to participate in a transit program using pre-tax dollars to purchase fare cards and other passes, as well as to pay for commuter parking expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Pet Insurance
Employees are offered a group employer discount to insure one or more pets for health care.
Discount Auto and Homeowner’s Insurance
Employees may receive up to a 10 percent group discount when they sign up for coverage through the designated vendor.
