Monthly Expenses & Cumulative Obligations (MECO)
This fiscal year-based report breaks down monthly expenses and cumulative obligations by budget category. This can help you analyze spending trends by month in order to identify issues, or just to prepare future budgets. The report is updated on a monthly basis and includes:
- Monthly Expenses: expenditures for the specific project by month
- Monthly Average Expenses: divides the total expenditures to date for the fiscal year by the number of months represented in the report
- Total Expenses for Current Fiscal Year: adds all the months' expenses for the fiscal year represented in the report
- Total Expenses prior to [given date]: the total cumulative expenses as of the beginning of the fiscal year represented in the report
- Open POs: total amount of purchase orders for which payments have not been issued
- Total Funds Obligated: total of previous three columns; represents the total obligated funds for the project
