Retirement Plan
HJF offers a 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching contributions that increase with years of service to employees who work 20 or more hours per week. A new employee receives 100% of the first 5% of salary each payroll period. An employee may contribute the lesser of 90% of their salary or the maximum permitted by law: $15,500 in 2007. Employees age 50 or older may contribute an additional $5,000 in 2007.
Both the employee and employer contributions are 100% vested immediately. HJF offers variable annuity and mutual fund investment options.
Group Health Insurance, Dental and Vision
The Foundation's health insurance program is comprised of two Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) options nationwide. An HMO option is available in California. International employees are insured through CIGNA International.
The Foundation pays a high percentage of premiums for full-time employees to lower employee out-of-pocket expenses. Regular part-time employees scheduled to work 21 hours or more per week are eligible to participate in the program, but pay higher premiums than full-time employees. The Foundation also pays a high percentage of premiums for dental and vision coverage.
Flexible Spending Program
Our Flexible Spending Plan helps employees pay for unreimbursed, out-of-pocket medical or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. Employees estimate expenses and designate contributions to their accounts each year.
Employer-Paid Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
The Foundation provides life insurance coverage of two times an employee's annual salary up to a maximum of $500,000, and provides additional accidental death and dismemberment insurance at no cost to the employee. Employees may also purchase Supplemental Life Insurance for themselves and eligible dependents.
Long Term Care Group Insurance Plan
HJF offers Long Term Care Group Insurance that is employee paid with favorable group rates through CNA.
Annual Leave
Employees working 40 hours per week receive 12 days of annual leave per year, and the amount of leave increases with length of service. Employees working 21 hours or more receive leave on a prorated basis.
Sick Leave
Paid time off is available when an employee is unable to work due to illness, injury or a health care appointment. Employees working 40 hours per week accrue 15 days per year of sick leave. Employees working 21 hours or more receive leave on a prorated basis. The Foundation also offers employer-paid short- and long-term disability benefits.
Discount Auto and Homeowner's Insurance
Employees may receive up to a 10% group discount if they sign up for coverage through the designated vendor.
Group Legal Plan
Employees receive a discounted group rate for comprehensive legal and financial planning services.
Pre-Tax Transit and Commuter Parking Program
Nationwide, employees may elect to participate in a transit program using pre-tax dollars to purchase fare cards and other passes as well as to pay for commuter parking expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Pet Insurance
Employees are offered a group employer discount to insure one or more pets for health care.
Training and Development
HJF relies on a well-trained work force to achieve its corporate goals. The Foundation may provide for training and education that is essential for the employee's effective performance of the specific duties of the job when funding permits. Tuition reimbursement may be available when funding permits with, supervisor approval.
