Lieutenant Commander (Doctor) Jeffery Biberston
![]() | Lieutenant Commander (Doctor) Biberston began his military career as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps, serving with 1st Battalion 4th Marines and completing three combat deployments in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He went on to earn two undergraduate degrees from the University of Washington and a medical doctorate from Kansas City University. He completed Internal Medicine Residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. After completing his fellowship, he served at U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa as the sole pulmonary and critical care physician, supporting all operational units between Korea and Guam. He also served as faculty and mentor in the U.S.-Japanese Fellowship Program. LCDR Biberston currently serves as the Head of the Expeditionary and Trauma Medicine Department, where his team focuses on prolonged field care, hemorrhage control, and battlefield shock resuscitation. He maintains his clinical practice at Brooke Army Medical Center, working in the Surgical Trauma and Medical Intensive Care Units, as well as the Pulmonary Disease Clinic. LCDR Biberston has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Combat Action ribbon, and other unit and campaign awards. |
