HJF Names Merlin Robb, Senior Vice President

HJF is pleased to announce that Merlin Robb, M.D., has been promoted to Senior Vice President, where he will continue to advise leadership and staff on critical matters of medical and public health, including COVID-19 workforce protection protocols.

 

“Dr. Robb has consistently guided HJF throughout the many years he has served HJF. We are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and experienced person dedicate himself so fully to the HJF mission,” acknowledged Joseph Caravalho, M.D., HJF President and CEO. “For his outstanding medical leadership, he deserves our deepest appreciation.”

Dr. Robb, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, has served as Chief Medical Officer since 2019 after 17 years as the HJF HIV Program Director for the U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP). While in the military, LTC Robb served in the MHRP and occupied a leadership role in the Department of Vaccine Development, MHRP, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) from 1990 to 2002.

While continuing as primary advisor at HJF, Dr. Robb will also serve as Professor of Pediatrics Department of Pediatrics, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USU), Bethesda, Maryland, and as Infectious Disease Specialist, Pediatric Infectious Disease Fellowship, USU, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
