HJF Celebrates #GivingTuesday with the Advance Military Medicine Campaign

United States

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF), Inc. is asking for support in advancing military medicine. To accomplish this mission, HJF is joining thousands of organizations around the world participating in GivingTuesday on December 1, 2020.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement celebrated on the Tuesday after holiday shopping season typically begins. As millions are spent in stores and online, GivingTuesday provides an opportunity to give to charitable causes. In 2019, nearly $2 billion dollars were donated to nonprofits on GivingTuesday.

“Medical research is complex, costly, and crucial,” said Joseph Caravalho, Jr., M.D., President and CEO of HJF. “HJF is an expert at navigating this complex landscape for military medical researchers around the globe. But we cannot do it without the generous support of organizations and individuals like those who participate in GivingTuesday.”

HJF will be sending out emails to stakeholders and publishing on social media accounts. Additionally, it has enlisted the support of two corporate partners, United Concordia Dental and Leonardo DRS. Both partners have generously offered to share posts and promote HJF’s mission on their own digital outlets.

“Medical research is never completed by just one individual; there are assistants, administrators, collaborators, and a whole cadre of researchers who contribute to every discovery,” said Caravalho. “Likewise, HJF cannot support this research alone. United Concordia Dental and Leonardo DRS are among HJF’s most dedicated supporters, and we gratefully thank them.”
