Stephanie Monticelli, PhD, MPH, MS, BS
My research focus is primarily related to the development and evaluation of monoclonal antibody therapeutics and vaccines against a diverse set of high-consequence pathogens, including arenaviruses, poxviruses, paramyxoviruses, hantaviruses, nairoviruses, and filoviruses.
Leveraging my background in glycoprotein biology and protein function in pathogenesis, my research portfolio also includes projects related to dissecting viral protein function and host-virus interactions and host factor discovery through large-scale CRISPR and Proteomic screens.
Additionally, I am interested in how viral proteins contribute to pathogenesis through vascular leak induction. Through this work, I have established and evaluated several animal models of infection for arenaviruses, paramyxoviruses, and nairoviruses. To accomplish my research goals, I collaborate with large interdisciplinary and multi-institute consortiums of experts in varying fields within academia, industry, and the government.
