Yuliya Petrova, PhD
For 20 years I have studied B and T cell immune responses to protein and DNA-derived antigens in a context of vaccine development and, more broadly, to understand immune system regulation and interactions with other major systems in the body such as blood coagulation cascade or nervous system.
I have a great interest and experience in infectious disease studies and especially in virology. My special interest is viral and other pathogen antigen structural analysis and the relationship of the quality of the immune response with structural modifications of the antigens.
I used cutting-edge yeast display technology to study B cell immune responses in a context of vaccine development and therapeutic antibody research for HIV, Ebola, RSV, hMPV, PIV, Lassa, monkeypox and SARS-Cov2 viruses. Currently, my focus is on HIV vaccine development and assessment of CD4 and CD8 T cell responses.
